Core Scope

What every coaching client gets.

These are the foundational areas every coaching engagement covers. From here, your plan extends into the specific gaps your business needs to close before a sale.

Full Business Underwriting

I evaluate your business the way a buyer would — financials, operations, team, customers, risk. You get the unfiltered truth about what a buyer will see.

Custom Action Plans

Every call produces specific, deadline-driven action items. No vague advice. You know exactly what to do, in what order, and by when.

Weekly Video Calls

60–90 minute working sessions. Not motivational check-ins. We dig into the specific issues holding your valuation back and solve them together.

Post-Call Recaps

After every call, you get a written recap with action items, deadlines, and context. No ambiguity about what was discussed or what’s next.

Live Priority Tracker

A shared document tracking every gap, every action item, and every deadline. You and I both see what’s been done, what’s pending, and what’s next.

Direct Access

Email and text access as needed between calls. When something comes up, you don’t wait until the next scheduled session to get an answer.

Why 1:1 Coaching

The cost of getting your exit wrong is far higher than the cost of getting it right.

Most owners only sell once. They never see the gap between what their business was worth and what they actually got for it. By the time the wire hits, the money you left behind is gone — and there’s no second take.

The hidden cost

A lower valuation than you should have gotten.

Owners without buyer-side perspective routinely leave 20–40% on the table. On a $5M business that’s $1M–$2M of your life’s work walking out the door — not because the business wasn’t good, but because it wasn’t prepared.

The pain you’re carrying

The overwhelm of doing this alone.

Tax, legal, ops, financials, deal structure — all while running the business. Without someone in your corner who’s done it, you’re guessing on the most important transaction of your life. That weight doesn’t get lighter; it gets heavier the closer you get.

The years you waste

Two or three years prepping the wrong things.

Without a plan, founders polish what feels productive — the website, the brand, the new product. Meanwhile the things that actually move the multiple sit untouched. You can’t buy back those years, and you can’t fix at diligence what should have been fixed eighteen months earlier.

The accountability gap

Failing to take action on what needs to get done.

A coach who’s personally bought close to 20 companies does. Direct feedback. Specific deliverables. Someone who’s walked into the rooms you’re about to walk into — and tells you what they’re really looking for before they ask.

Starts at $5,000
per month.

That's a fraction of a percent of what a prepared exit returns. If your business sells for $5M instead of $3M because you closed the right gaps before going to market, the math speaks for itself.

This isn't for everyone, and spots are capped at five. Not for positioning... because that's how the work gets done right. Apply to see if there's a fit.

why the roster stays small

3-5 clients.
That's it.

There are two reasons the roster stays this tight. One is practical. One is personal. I'll walk through both in 60 seconds. Watch before you apply.

Fit Check

This coaching is built for a specific type of owner.

This is for you if...
  • You own a business doing $1M+ in revenue and want to sell in 1-5 years
  • You suspect your business has gaps that would cost you in a sale but aren’t sure where they are
  • You want an experienced operator — not a consultant — reviewing your business the way a buyer would
  • You’re willing to do the work and make changes, not just get advice
  • You value direct feedback over diplomatic hand-holding
This is not for you if...
  • You’re looking for someone to run your business or manage your exit for you
  • You want motivational coaching or general business advice
  • You’re not willing to invest the time to implement changes
  • You’re looking for a quick fix before listing next month
  • You need a business broker — I’m not one (but I can help you find and evaluate one)

What Clients Say

Results from the work.

"The access with Nick's coaching program is unreal. I'm having calls and texting about my business with someone who's taken companies public and sold to PE and we're discussing my specific business! It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny."

Anthony D.
CEO, E-Commerce

"Working with Nick 1:1 is a different experience than any advisor I've hired. He's not guessing. He's been through it. Having someone who's actually built, bought, and sold businesses reviewing my biz changed everything about how I prepared."

M. Sanchez
CEO, HVAC Business

"I wasn't really planning to sell for another 5+ years. Nick convinced me that exit readiness is what makes your business better right now. 6 months of one-on-one coaching with him and my business runs better and makes more money."

Elbyn D.
CEO, Gutter Business

1:1 COACHING Questions

What owners ask before they apply.

How is 1:1 Coaching different from just taking the BUYABLE course?

The BUYABLE online course gives you the framework. Coaching gives you the outcome. With coaching, I underwrite your business the way a buyer would, build a custom action plan around your specific gaps, and hold you accountable through execution — no guesswork, no interpreting a general framework on your own. The best founders know when to bring in someone who’s already been where they’re trying to go, and that’s exactly what this is. Owners who go through coaching close the gap faster and leave with a higher multiple.

How much does coaching cost?

Investments start at $5,000 per month, but vary by the scope of work and how fast you want to go. I have clients where we book one 90 minute session twice per month, and others where we book three 60 minute sessions per week, because there is either a lot to tackle or the client wants to go to market faster. Pricing is discussed on the discovery call after I understand your business and goals. I’m transparent about what the investment is and what you’ll get for it.

Why do you only work with 3-5 owners at once?

Two reasons.

First, the work is heavy. Coaching isn't the call — the call is the tip of the iceberg. Every client requires real prep: reviewing financials, pressure-testing strategy, mapping out next moves, and thinking through their business between sessions. If I take on more than 3–5 people, the quality drops. I'd rather do this well for a few than half-ass it for many.

Second, I'm protective of my time. More protective than I am of anything I own. I've built and sold enough businesses to know time is the one thing you can't get back, and at this point in my life I get to spend mine the way I want — playing tennis, training, traveling, being present with my family. That's exactly the life I want for you on the other side of your exit. The whole point of building a business someone wants to buy is so you get your time back too. So when I commit hours to a client, it has to be meaningful, the work has to be rewarding, and you have to be someone I genuinely want to go to war with to get you there.

That's why this is application-only and capped. It's not a marketing tactic. It's how I've decided to live — and it's what I'm trying to help you build toward.

How long is the engagement?

Most clients work with me for 6–12 months depending on their timeline and the scope of gaps we need to close. There’s no long-term lock-in — we set milestones and review progress together.

A business with just a few things to clean up, will engage shorter than one with a long list. If you're in a rush to get to market, then we will need to condense our engagement to meet your deadline. I will work with your demands and your availabilituy to deliver the optimal result for you and your business.

How is this different from hiring a broker or M&A advisor?

Brokers sell your business. I prepare it to be sold. The work I do with you happens before a broker gets involved — fixing the issues that reduce your multiple, building the systems that make buyers confident, and positioning your business so it performs well in a process. Brokers and M&A advisors often refer their clients to me.

I’m not planning to sell for 3–5 years. Is it too early?

That’s the best time to start. The most impactful changes — reducing owner dependency, building a management team, cleaning up financials — take 12–24 months to show results. Starting early gives you time to fix things without pressure.

What if I’ve already taken BUYABLE?

Even better. You already understand the framework. Coaching applies it directly to your business with accountability and support. Many coaching clients start with the course and then move to 1-on-1 when they want hands-on help executing.

Do you work with businesses in specific industries?

The exit readiness framework applies across industries. I’ve worked with service businesses, manufacturing, tech, healthcare, ecommerce, and professional services. What matters more than your industry is your revenue level, your willingness to execute, and your timeline.

How big does my business need to be for 1:1 coaching?

For 1:1 coaching I typically work with businesses doing between $3M and $50M in revenue. That said, exceptions can be made on both ends of that range. What matters more than the size of the business, is the willingness to "show up" and do the work. It's never too early to become exit-ready; In fact, the earlier the better. And remember, an exit-ready business is simply a better business. It runs better, has less risk, makes more money and depends less on you, so you can get your life back.

Is this a fully "done-for-you" program?

This is absolutely not a "done-for-you" program. I will 100% be there alongside you to map out the strategy and plan, provide the necessary support, answer questions, and hold you accountable. However, the work is done by you and/or your team. If you're not willing to invest the time to implement the changes, this is not for you.
